Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal Clash in Champions League Semi-Final Second Leg

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal face off in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final. PSG hold a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium a week ago.

Recent form makes both sides difficult to predict. PSG, unbeaten in Ligue 1 until Easter, have since suffered consecutive defeats against Nice (3-1) and Strasbourg (2-1). Arsenal have also struggled, drawing with Crystal Palace (2-2) and losing to Bournemouth (2-1) in their last two Premier League matches.

Historically, the two teams are evenly matched. In four previous encounters, they have each recorded one win and two draws. The victories came this season, with Arsenal winning 2-0 at home in the group stage and PSG taking the first leg of the semi-final. The draws occurred in the 2016 Champions League group stage: 1-1 in Paris and 2-2 in London. A similar scoreline today would see PSG advance.

Whichever team progresses will be making only their second appearance in a Champions League final. Paris Saint-Germain lost to Bayern Munich 1-0 in 2020, while Arsenal were defeated 2-1 by Barcelona in 2006.
